A year ago our position looked forlorn, and well nigh desperate to all eyes but our own. To-day we may say aloud before an awe-struck world: "We are still masters of our fate. We are still captain of our souls." - Churchill.
Getting it to work for me in the UK
Published on July 8, 2004 By Sam Edney In Docklets
What settings do I have to use to get the weather channel object to work for me here in the UK.

I can get the weather details for me on the UK weather channel site (http://uk.weather.com).

Failing that, are there any other weather applets which will work for us here in the UK, by postcode?

Sam, head to www.weather.com, search up your town/city and click the town name in the search results. You should end up at a page showing the current weather at your location. Now check the page address of that page. For me (Perth, Australia), it looks like this:

http://www.weather.com/outlook/travel/local/ASXX0089?from=search_city

The code 'ASXX0089' is the unique location code that weather.com uses for my home town. I simply copied that code into the Country Code box on my weather docklet settings and voila! It worked. No doubt you can do the same - good luck!
